Today, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline & Group marked National Day with a cake cutting for Emirates staff at the Group headquarters. The large, specially made, cake was designed to replicate the UAE flag.
“In celebration of the country’s 40th National Day Emirates has undertaken a number of initiatives that honour our commitment to the UAE. The staff at Emirates are just as patriotic about the UAE as they are about Emirates and it is encouraging to see staff of all different nationalities adopt the UAE as their home,” said Abdulaziz Al Ali, Emirates Executive Vice President, Human Resources.

Giving fans of the airline a treat this National Day holiday Emirates will be taking to the sky in Abu Dhabi on Thursday afternoon, conducting a low pass over the Corniche and Yas Island. The Emirates fly past will be completed by one of the airline’s acclaimed A380 aircraft carrying the official National Day logo.
The timings for the fly past will be 16:00 hours over Abu Dhabi Corniche, with the aircraft circling the area several times over the course of 25 minutes. The aircraft will then make the short trip to Yas Island to arrive at around 16:35 hours for several circuits of the area before landing back in Dubai.
Also honouring UAE National Day the exterior of Emirates Group Headquarters has been adorned with a giant celebratory banner.
